ACL Reconstruction & Ligament Surgery

Minimally invasive arthroscopic ligament reconstruction, paired with sport-specific rehabilitation to restore knee stability.

The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is one of the key stabilisers of the knee. When it is completely torn — often during cutting sports such as cricket, football or badminton — surgical reconstruction may be considered for patients whose activity requirements demand a stable knee.

What ligament surgery may involve

Return-to-sport considerations

Return to sport after ligament surgery is a goal-based, not calendar-based, process. Functional testing and phased sport-specific training are used before clearing patients for competitive activity. The timeline varies between patients depending on graft type, sport, rehabilitation compliance and functional recovery.

Whether surgical treatment is appropriate for a specific patient is decided together with the surgeon after clinical examination, imaging review and discussion of options. Not every condition requires surgery.
